COURSE INFORMATION

With Sailing Virgins you can attain American Sailing Association (ASA) qualifications by completing a week-long sailing course in the world’s most picturesque destinations including the British Virgin Islands, Croatia, French Polynesia (Tahiti), France and Madeira. Check out which locations are currently running courses here.

When
We choose the time of year with the best sailing conditions for each location
– The Virgin Islands have great sailing anytime from November to June.
– Croatia courses occur in August and September and soon in May and June too.
– French Polynesia courses are run in November, February and April
– Instructor courses are run intermittently throughout the year
– Island Adventures up and down the islands of the Caribbean occur in June, July, October, and November.

Cost
Below are some prices for our monohull Caribbean courses. You can check the full list of courses here.
$2,770/student for Beginner Course (link shown here),
$2,995/student for Intermediate Course (link shown here),
$3,350 for Advanced Course (link shown here).
$2,980 for Island Adventure Courses (these courses sail between countries, see here).

Where
– All our Caribbean courses (except Island Adventures) start and end on the BVI or USVI. Most people fly into St Thomas in the USVI (STT) which is a one-hour ferry away from Tortola (BVI). Tortola Airport (EIS) is also a possibility but is much smaller and so has fewer flights. STT is usually your best bet.
– Croatia courses run out of Split (SPU) where you can get direct flights to or get another quick connecting flight from the capital of Croatia, Zagreb (ZAG). The marina is a short taxi ride from the airport.
– French Polynesia courses run from Raiatea which is a short flight over from the main airport on Papeete (PPT). Flights are getting better all the time, check for good deals from France and Toronto.

We are qualified RYA and ASA instructors. Sailing Virgins awards ASA (101, 103, 104, 105, 106 & 114) qualifications depending on your level of competency. We also offer ASA instructor courses (201-204).
